Jae-wook, a prosecutor specializing in violent crimes. While interrogating a shady suspect one day, he loses his temper and lashes out at him. But when he returns to the room he finds the suspect dead and he is promptly charged with murder. Keen to avoid any trouble, he is left to dry by his colleagues and finds himself slapped with a ten-year prison sentence. After incarceration, Jae-wook meets small time hoodlum Chi-won and begins to piece together evidence that will prove that the murder wrap was a setup. But in order to complete his plan, he needs the help of Chi-won, whom he trains to aid him in his quest for revenge.

Lee Kang-hee, an editor at an influential conservative newspaper raises congressman Jang Pilwoo to the position of a leading candidate for President using the power of the press. Ahn Sang-goo, a political henchman who supported Lee and Jang, gets his hand cut when he is caught pocketing the record of the sponsor’s slush fund. Woo Jang-hoon, an ambitious prosecutor, starts to investigate the relationship with Jang and the sponsor believing it is the only chance he can make it to the top. While getting down to the grass roots on the case, Woo meets Ahn who has been deliberately planning his revenge. Now the war among the one blind for power, the one hell bent for vengeance and the one eager for success starts.

Hyung-wook, an infamous assassin known for his perfection, he slips on soap at a public sauna and passes out. Jae-sung, a not famous unknown actor who’s hit rock bottom, witnesses the accident and switches his locker key with Hyung-wook’s. Jae-sung opens the locker to find the key to a fancy car which leads him to a luxurious condo along with the full wealth and secrets of a successful hit man. On the other hand, Hyung-wook wakes up with amnesia. And the only clue he has for his identity are the outstanding payment bills. With the help of a paramedic, he finds his (actually Jae-sung’s) place discovering that he’s a totally broke nameless actor. While Hyung-wook struggles to remember, he tries to ‘continue’ his life as an actor. And by irony of fate, with the help of real-life action moves that his body is used to, he soon becomes the new action hero on TV. And with the continuous shooting of the action sequences, his memory starts to return.

In 1920, when Korea is under Japanese rule the Korean Independence Army’s Hae-chul (Yoo Hae-jin) and his subordinates are carrying out the operation to deliver funds to the Korean Provisional Government in Shanghai. During the operation Hae-chul is reunited with Jang-ha (Ryu Jun-yeol), a young squad commander, whose mission is to defend Samdunja. They unite and trap the Japanese soldiers in Samdunja, soundly defeating them. Now they’re chased by Japanese troops and Hae-chul finds out that Jang-ha’s mission isn’t over yet. A crucial yet dangerous task is still assigned to him.

In the year of 1762, when King Yeongjo of the Joseon dynasty’s been ruling for 35 years already, Crown prince Sado is accused of plotting treason by his biological mother lady Yi. Yeongjo falls into a dilemma since he could not penalize his own son as a traitor as it would mean that he would become the father of a traitor threatening his throne, and ends up ordering Sado to take his own life. As Sado’s lieges oppose Yeongjo’s decision by putting their own lives at risk, Yeongjo locks Sado in a wooden rice chest. Locked up without being given a single drop of water, Sado is also deprived from succeeding the throne, having his son take his place as an heir. On the 8th day inside the chest, Sado faces death. The movie follows the most tragic and iconic 8 days in the history of Joseon Dynasty disclosing what forced a father to kill his own son.

13-year-old Su-rin moves to a remote island with her stepfather when her mother passes away. She befriends Sung-min, an orphan boy who truly understands her. One day, they venture into a cave in the forest with a group of kids and discover a glittering egg which, according to their local folktale, hold a time-eating monster; a monster that can instantly turn a child into an adult. Su-rin tries to stop them, but the boys take the egg out of curiosity. When she follows them out of the cave, she finds that her friends have disappeared. The police assume that this is an abduction case and begin their investigation. Su-rin tells the police about finding the egg, but nobody believes her. Later, a mysterious man in his 30s shows up and tells Su-rin that he is Sung-min.

Since its inception in 2010, Korean Movie Night New York presented free film screenings that introduced the full spectrum of contemporary and classic Korean cinema to New York audiences, including popular blockbusters, independent films, documentaries, animation, and more.
